Confirm the panel system first

Verify product code, core, thickness, finish, batch and approved use. A display panel is not automatically suitable for an external or regulated façade.

Coordinate panel modules, corners, openings, fire strategy, drainage and structural design before fabrication. Do not transfer hole sizes or support spacing between unrelated systems.

Plan direction and batches

Metallic and directional finishes can reflect differently when panels are rotated. Carry the arrows on the protective film into the cutting list and elevation schedule.

Group production batches and dry-fit the first panel against actual axes, joints and returns before using it as a template.

Build a true, drained subframe

Size brackets, anchors and rails for the calculated loads and panel system. Do not pull a crooked rail flat through the panel.

Maintain the designed cavity, fire barriers and drainage path. Isolate dissimilar metals where the approved system requires protection against galvanic corrosion.

Provide fixed and sliding points

Aluminium expands with temperature. ALUCOBOND gives a linear movement of about 2.4 mm per metre per 100 K, while the actual allowance depends on panel size and installation and service temperatures.

Use the engineered fixed point to locate the panel and centred sliding points to accommodate movement. Exact holes, clearances and tools must come from the selected product system.

Set rivets and screws without clamping

Align panel and rail holes with a drilling jig, remove burrs and clear the protective film beneath fastener heads before installation.

Use the specified rivet head, mandrel, grip or screw and washer. Do not crush the panel or visibly over-compress an EPDM washer; approve the first-piece setting before continuing.

Design joints for movement and drainage

Joint width controls appearance, tolerances, thermal movement and access. For sealed joints, follow the sealant manufacturer's geometry, primer and backing requirements.

Do not casually seal an open-jointed rainscreen. Its rear profiles, barriers and drainage path form one system; check line, level and joint width at every row.

Remove film and document handover

Protective film is temporary. Remove it within the manufacturer's stated conditions after installation, while clearing local fastener areas beforehand.

Inspect direction, colour consistency, damage, bowing, joints, fasteners and drainage in varied light. Record batches, drawings, photographs and component references for handover.

Preserve panel direction, install the engineered subframe, accommodate thermal movement with fixed and sliding points, centre fasteners without clamping the sheet, maintain the designed joints and drainage, and remove the film on time.
